We believe in the healthiness of eating fresh, locally and sustainably grown whole foods. We think healthy soil provides the foundation for nutrient-dense food, whether for people or animals. We have chosen to have our farm, Mill River Farm, certified organic, and we work hard to maintain that status. Our farm supplies almost all of the vegetables we eat. Thanks to four season harvest techniques pioneered by Eliot Coleman, we also enjoy fresh greens and herbs from the garden even in the coldest Berkshire months.
We believe that children learn to eat a variety of healthy fruits and vegetables when they help to grow, harvest and cook them. We support programs that offer children this experience.
