Berkshire Botanical Garden
BBG, known for great education programs, created a new space for children to plant, cultivate, harvest and enjoy. Greenagers constructed the raised beds. Next: a cob oven and chickens add to the fun at a new day-long summer camp.
Berkshire Grown
BG supports local farming through advocacy, education and facilitating new sales contacts. Their special events celebrate local chefs and local food, and membership practically pays for itself. Great newsletter and website.- John Bagnulo: Nutritionist, Farmer, Educator John makes nutrition science come alive with his clear, patient guidance about the healing power of a whole foods, plant-based diet. When he’s not farming in Maine, he returns to Kripalu to teach and consult.
The Edible Schoolyard
The Mother of all instructional garden and cooking programs for children, led by chef and visionary, Alice Waters. Their new website is eagerly awaited. The lucky few can travel to Berkeley in June for ESY’s 3-day Academy for teachers.
